Psylotech's unique Microscoping™ sensor technology offer 100x superior resolution compared to strain gauged alternatives. Our sensors utilize strain-gauge-like instrumentation electronics and have at least 100x higher sensitivity. More signal with comparable signal to noise ratio means higher resolution. The basic technology applies to force, displacement, strain or torque.
Microscoping™ sensor technology is analogous to an optical microscope. Our sensor electronics are like magnifying objectives. Each channel magnifies the signal, offering a zoomed window with a smaller range and a correspondingly higher resolution. Similar to adjusting a microscope stage, that window can be shifted anywhere within the full scale. For example, a 100,000 N load cell can have a 1,000 N window ranging from 48,300 to 49,300 N. The technique enhances resolution in commonly available 16 bit systems. |
