Psylotech Microscoping™ load cell technology enables a wide range of novel experimental setups. For example:

  • Stress control in DMA specimens, monitoring small strain perturbations as the material transitions from the glassy to rubbery plateau.
  • Increased universality in universal test frames: a single load cell can cover 3 powers of ten, e.g. 500, 50 and 5 N.
  • Grip weight can be removed from the signal without reducing range from taring, benefiting low peak load tests such as a single fiber tension.
  • Acoustic sensors monitoring ligament collapse on compressed foam can be replaced.

Features
  • 3-axes: axial load in x and bending moments about y and z.
  • Microscoping™ technology, i.e. 500 N load cell is effective in a 5 N test
  • High overload protection: up to 800x
  • Theoretically infinite fatigue limit, since there is no strain gauge bondline to fail
  • Window offers 100x higher stiffness, and therefore 10x higher resonance frequency
  • Mechanical and electrical temperature compensation
