Psylotech's 3D-DMA is a universal testing machine specially purposed to measure the mechanical properties of polymers. Experimental techniques are grounded in metals testing experience. Extensometers measure strain locally on axially loaded specimens, rather than relying on contact point displacement on flexing beams. The system concurrently measures dynamic Young's Modulus, E*, and viscoelastic Poisson's ratio, ν*. Post processor software infers the material’s full 3-D mechanical property matrix, providing time-domain Shear modulus, G(t), and Bulk modulus, Κ(t), well suited for finite element simulation. Finite Element Analysis accelerates product development and opens new theoretical frontiers for non-linear viscoelastic theory. |
