The novel features of Psylotech load cells have proven uniquely enabling to industry. Consider weight-based materials handling equipment. The shiftable aspect of Microscoping™ technology affords excellent closed loop control of changes in a container weight. Furthermore, sensors can be pre-loaded to any full scale zero offset, further improving precision by removing container weight from the measurement range. In the laboratory, Psylotech load cells have the flexibility to accommodate a wide range of experimental scenarios. For example, a 100x magnification enables a 20,000 lb. cell to make reasonable measurements in a 200 lb test. Additionally, new experimental methods are possible, because that 200 lb range can be shifted anywhere within the full scale (e.g. 5000 to 5200 lb). The zoomed window also provides extremely high safety factors for small range sensors: a nominally 100 lb cell is effective for tests under 1 lb. The transducers are temperature compensated and incorporate two torsion resistant membranes to accommodate non-axial loading.
