Psylotech's extensometer systems make strain gaged specimens a thing of the past. Features like multiple, concurrent conditioning channels and microscoping™ technology enable a single transducer to accurately measure small strain properties like Young's Modulus and Poisson's ratio. Accurate small strain property measurement is particularly valuable for softer materials, where bonded foil strain gages erroneously reinforce the specimen.
These extensometers offer an array of features in addition to microscoping™ technology. First, they are light and compact, minimizing specimen bending effects. Second, the units are robust enough to remain attached to the specimen through failure. Third, offset contact points allow the extensometer to be mounted either axially or transversely. Finally, the spring loaded contact point can be adjusted to fine tune specimen contact force.
